Tigers have nsw rams reps
The Northern Districts Tigers can lay claim to having two of AFL South Coast's most exciting up and coming juniors. Lily King and Jeremy Woodford were both selected for the NSW/ACT Rams at the u16 National Championships, and that taste of rep footy has them wanting more.
Indigenous Round at Hollymount Park this weekend
:This year the Northern District Tigers are extremely proud to host Kiama Power and Wollongong Bulldogs AFL in the South Coast AFL Indigenous Round. This round holds a special place in the Tiger communities heart and it is with great humility, pride and respect that we are able to commemorate NAIDOC Week in our own way. Making this week even more special for the Tigers is the unveiling of our first ever Indigenous guernsey. The guernsey was designed by our very own Bradley Hanlon and painted by respected artist Ngandabaa. Here is what Brad has to say about the design - “The significance of this indigenous jersey is a very local one. The sash is a lyrebird feather which can be found on the escarpment the whole length of the Wodi Wodi Land. Then we have the three meeting places. The bottom left represents Sandon Point, a large meeting place for Aboriginal people. Top right is Bellambi Point, which again is a significant meeting place. The last meeting place in the centre of our story and is Holymount Park with the white u’s around it representing all us involved with NDAFC.” (A HUGE thank you to Easy Agile and Foran Plumbing, for their generous donations which allowed the club to purchase guernseys for all three grades) During the day we will have a ceremonies to acknowledge and pay respect to our local Indigenous culture, including a Welcome to Country by Uncle Kev Butler. Games kick off at 10:45am with Reserve grade playing the Bulldogs followed by the Women's team playing at 12:15pm against Kiama Finally, at 2:15pm the Premier division game sees our fifth place Tigers verse the 3rd place Kiama Power in what will be a very enthralling contest. We would love all Tigers, past, present and future to join us down at Hollymount on Saturday for a very special day!
